About

Hello! My Name is Joshua Maurer. I created this website to hopefully help people like me, who ride and maintain older motorcycles. For me, the 70’s and 80’s motorcycle are my favorite to ride because of their style, price, and maintenance.

The goal of this website is to provide first hand knowledge and information that relate to older motorcycles. This is to help answer questions or find resources that helped me when I was a new rider. I’m working towards getting some newer motorcycles so I can have some experience with those.

I started riding in 2015 after some coworkers of mine at Home Depot told me what it was like to ride and the costs of owning a motorcycle. They pointed out how you could get a used motorcycle for just a few thousand and how cheap insurance was for it. At that time, I was a college student, working part time and was looking for ways to cut my biggest cost. The idea of getting a mode of transportation that got 40-60 mpg sounded amazing.

After talking to them, I decided that I needed to give this a try and see how it goes. I went and took a MSF safety class, got my license and a 1984 Honda Nighthawk 650. Starting here, I began my journey becoming a biker and living this lifestyle. It was a decision that has changed my life forever and it is a decision that I will never regret.

My Professional Career:

Josh works as a Electronic Technician for a company that sells and repairs point of sale scanners. Those are things that retail store associates use to scan products at the store, to check the price. Before that, Josh worked as a automotive technician and a sales associate at Wal-Mart and Home Depot.

Josh have spent almost 10 years working in a retail environment and went to school to become a computer technician. After school, he remained working in retail until he got a job repairing the very devices that he use to use in his stores. Coming from a retail background and having gone to school to be a technician, this just seem to be a perfect fit for him and his talents.

My Personal Life:

Outside of work, I enjoy watching Anime, playing video games, and spending time with my friends and family. I also enjoy bar tending the parties that my friends like to host. I also enjoy learning how to wood work, so I can build all the random things one may need.

In time, I plan to build a home flight simulator and get my private pilots license. I’m also planning on taking long motorcycle trips across multiple states and might even try to ride all the way from coast to coast.
